Vietnam, India promote cooperation potential in agriculture

NDO – The fourth Vietnam - India Agricultural Summit was held from February 15-17 in Haryana state, India, contributing to promoting cooperation potential between the two countries.

Addressing the opening session of the summit, Vietnamese Ambassador to India Pham Sanh Chau said that Haryana is a pure agricultural state with strong development and many outstanding achievements in India.

The Ambassador recalled the import of the first Murrah buffalofrom Haryana into Vietnam, noting that Vietnam currently still needs the help from Haryana in improving the quality of Vietnamese buffalo.

He also said that Vietnam and India have many similarities in the agricultural sector, particularly in the export of agricultural products.

India is the biggest rice exporter in the world, followed by Thailand and Vietnam, added Ambassador Chau.

On the occasion, Ambassador Pham Sanh Chau held meetings with Haryana state’s officials and visited several pavilions at an agricultural fair.
