NDO – The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has put two tourist information stations into operation at Bach Dang Park and the September 23 Park to provide tourists with an easy way to get travel information.

The stations are fully equipped with two computers that have smart screens and internet connection which can help tourists search for information in regards to roads, restaurants, shopping places nearby and means of transport to tourist attractions.

Covering an area of 55 square metres, the stations will operate from 8 am to 9 pm every day. Staff will still be available at the stations to provide tourists with information and support.

In addition, a tourism handbook, map and a Code of Conduct are printed and translated into English, Japanese, Russian and Chinese to assist tourists from all over the globe.

The department is planning to coordinate with students and pensioners with foreign language skills to work at the stations.

According to Le Truong Hien Hoa, director of Ho Chi Minh City's Tourism Promotion Centre, after one year of testing, the two stations, the centre will review the existing format and propose expanding the model in Tan Son Nhat International Airport and at the city’s key attractions such as Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum.
