NDO - A delegation from the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Election Council, headed by NA Vice Chairman Do Ba Ty examined preparations for the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for the 2016-2021 term in Truong Sa island district and Naval Zone 4 on May 12.

After hearing reports by authorities of Truong Sa island district and Naval Zone 4, Vice Chairman Ty spoke highly of their preparations for the election and reminded local authorities to enhance communication to help people understand their rights and responsibilities in taking part in the election.

Political security, social safety and order for elections should also be a focus, he noted.

Truong Sa island district and Naval Zone 4 are allowed to hold early voting on May 15, one week ahead of the General Election Day, which is slated for May 22.

So far, Truong Sa island district and Naval Zone 4 have completed all directives from the central agencies on the preparations for the upcoming election.

A total of 24 polling stations were set up in Truong Sa island district while seven were established in Naval Zone 4.
