NDO – National Assembly Permanent Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong visited and congratulated doctors and medical workers at Hanoi Heart Hospital on the occasion of Vietnamese Doctor’s Day, on February 27.

She applauded efforts made by the hospital’s staff in public healthcare service, calling on them to better care for patients and make further contributions to the healthcare sector.

She stressed that Party and State always attach great attention to improving people’s health, considering it as an investment for development.

Starting as a 50-bed hospital with only nine departments when it was established 15 years ago, the Hanoi Heart Hospital now provides up to 380 beds and 33 departments for patients.

Also on Vietnamese Doctor’s Day, an arts programme was held in Hanoi by the Vietnam Television (VTV) to acknowledge significant contributions made by doctors and physicians in improving health and saving people’s lives.

Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien expressed her thanks for the VTV for hosting such a meaningful event dedicated to Vietnamese doctors on their traditional day.
