Party official asserts Catholics’ services to nation

NDO - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC), and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation, Truong Thi Mai hosted a reception in Hanoi for Priest Tran Xuan Manh, Acting President and General Secretary of the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC).

Speaking at the reception, Head of the PCC’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation Truong Thi Mai emphasised the important role of the CSVC as an important bridge which serves to create a good relationship between the Catholic followers and the entire political system.

Politburo member Mai noted that the country’s socio-economic achievements over the past year were the result of the joint efforts of the ministries and sectors, as well as the contributions made by all people, including the Catholic community.

For his part, Priest Tran Xuan Manh emphasised that, over the past few years, the State and National Assembly have exerted great efforts to improve the country’s policies to better meet religions’ aspirations.

He expressed his gratitude for the Party and State’s care and affirmed that the Catholic followers will work together with the Party, State and people nationwide towards developing the country further.
