Party chief lauds Thai Binh province’s progress

NDO - General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong spoke highly of the achievements made by the northern province of Thai Binh in recent years during a meeting with the provincial leadership on February 2.

He said that Thai Binh had previously been a poor province but has now gone through a positive transformation with higher living standards and improved road infrastructure.

The Party leader said he expects the province to build on its traditions and exploit its strengths so as to foster industrial development and increase exports.

On the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year, General Secretary Trong extended his wishes of good health and prosperity to the residents of Thai Binh province.

Earlier, the Party chief offered incense to Nguyen Duc Canh, a veteran revolutionary and leader of the workers movement, at his memorial house in Diem Dien town, on the occasion of his 110th birthday.

The same day, the general secretary visited the homes of 96-year-old Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Tuat and 91-year-old veteran revolutionary Tran Thi Mien in Tien Hai district.
