NDO/VNA - Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam spoke highly of the cooperation and assistance provided by SOS Children's Villages International for Vietnam in taking care of underprivileged children, while receiving its President Siddhartha Kaul in Hanoi on January 9.

Vietnam always attaches importance to its relations with SOS Children’s Villages International, while backing the operations of SOS Children’s Villages Vietnam, Dam said.

On the occasion of the 30th founding anniversary of the SOS Children’s Villages Vietnam, he thanked SOS Children’s Villages International and donors worldwide for their contributions to the organisation’s development.

For his part, Siddhartha Kaul stated that the honour awarded to SOS Children’s Villages Vietnam on its 30th founding anniversary acknowledged the contributions made by SOS Children's Villages International and its Vietnam chapter in particular in the care of disadvantaged children.

Over the past 30 years, SOS Children’s Villages International has provided Vietnam with nearly US$120 million in order to develop infrastructure in local SOS villages, which have been home to about 6,000 Vietnamese children.
