President Ho Chi Minh memorial house inaugurated in Son La

NDO – A ceremony was held on January 1 to inaugurate a memorial house to President Ho Chi Minh in Thuan Chau district, Son La province.

The event was attended by Politburo member cum Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee Tong Thi Phong, along with delegates from ministries, departments and local authorities.

Construction of the President Ho Chi Minh memorial house started on May 7, 2017, the cultural historic work features the sentiments of compatriots of Thuan Chau district in particular, and Son La provinces in general for President Ho Chi Minh.

On May 7, 1959, Uncle Ho and the Government’s delegation visited and talked with the ethnic people in the Northwest region.

Addressing the ceremony, NA Vice Chairman Tong Thi Phong spoke highly of the historical significance of the memorial house. The work is not only a tourist destination, a place to preserve the culture of Son La province and the Northwest region, but also an important place to preserve and promote cultural and historical values, and educate the revolutionary traditions for the people, she added.

She also expressed her hope that Thuan Chau district in the Son La province would continue to promote the tradition of solidarity and build a rich and peaceful homeland

NA Vice Chairman Tong Thi Phong and leaders of Thuan Chau district, Son La province carried out the incense offering ceremony to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the memorial house, planting souvenir trees and participating in the traditional dance of the local people.
