NDO – Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Nghia has asked teachers to find measures with which to inspire passion and the love of learning among their students, while setting themselves as an example for students to follow.
The Deputy Minister Nghia made the request at a ceremony at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi, on November 18, to honour 168 outstanding teachers nationwide. The ceremony was held by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and the National Education Union of Vietnam as an event to observe Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20).
She noted with pleasure that the education and training sector has gained encouraging achievements, which teachers and educational managers at all levels across the country have significantly contributed to.
Hailing the awardees as shining examples of their devotion, who have shown outstanding performance in their work, she stressed that teachers play a vital role in successfully realising Vietnam’s goal of fundamental and comprehensive reform in education and training.
Stressing that the teachers are always respected and appreciated in the community at all times, she called on Vietnamese teachers to make further efforts in order to nurture and develop the country’s future generations.
Prior to the ceremony, delegates at the event offered incense to Chu Van An (1292-1370), who was a renowned Confucian, great teacher, and high-ranking mandarin of the Tran Dynasty in Dai Viet (the ancient name of Vietnam).
