NDO – The People’s Public Security (PPS) forces need to exercise a behavioural culture of respecting, understanding, and studying civilians, while developing close and responsible bonds with the people and resolutely eliminating the bossy attitude, corruption, wastefulness, and any acts of troubling the people, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has stated.

The Government leader made the remarks at a conference held by the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) in Hanoi on May 15 to review five years of the “PPS forces to follow six teachings of Uncle Ho” movement and two years of its studying and following of President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, morality, and lifestyle.

After 70 years, Uncle Ho’s teachings still remain relevant today and are the guidelines for all of the actions and behavioural culture of the PPS, he said, urging each organisation, unit, officer, and soldier of the forces to consider the following of these teachings as their key political task.

PM Phuc asked the PPS to seriously and effectively implement the Politburo’s Resolution No. 22 on continuously renovating the MPS’s state apparatus towards streamlinedness and operational efficiency, while maintaining itself as a key force in the fight against crime and proactively combating corruption from within the force.

The PPS should focus on improving the mechanisms of monitoring and inspection in a solid, transparent, and effective fashion; strictly handling negative acts and law violations; and building a regular, elite, and modernised PPS force with absolute loyalty to the Party, State and the people, he insisted.

The PM also urged the PPS forces to detect and duplicate the outstanding models, collectives, and individuals in following Uncle Ho’s teachings, in the aim of creating a strong spillover effect throughout the entire PPS forces and the whole of society.

At the conference, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented the “National Emulation Soldier” title to 12 officers and soldiers of the PPS forces. Meanwhile, Minister of Public Security To Lam granted the ministry’s Emulation Flag to 15 collectives with outstanding performances in the “PPS forces to follow six teachings of Uncle Ho” movement during the 2013-2018 period.
