The Vietnamese State leader lauded Laos’ achievements in all fields, including its political stability, economic development, improved living conditions, and enhanced position in the world arena.

He praised the Public Security Ministries of Vietnam and Laos for maintaining high-level security cooperation conferences, along with meetings, thematic conferences, and personnel training affiliation.

Highlighting the traditional solidarity of Vietnam and Laos, President Tran Dai Quang lauded the treasured support of Laos during the past struggle for independence and current national construction and defence of Vietnam.

He declared that the Party, State and People’s Public Security Force of Vietnam see the partnership with Laos as being among the key factors to maintaining the leadership of the Party and State of Vietnam and Laos for the successful fulfillment of reform targets, ensuring a peaceful and wealthy life for the people of Vietnam and Laos.

Both President Tran Dai Quang and Kongthong Phongvichit agreed that the public security forces of the two countries should improve their coordination in implementing policies of the two Parties and States in safeguarding the national security and social order and safety in each country.

The two forces should promote their cooperation to stay active in foiling all schemes which aim to bring harm to the national security of each country and divide the solidarity of the two nations.

They concurred that the forces should deal with arising problems related to security and order of each country in a timely manner, especially those in free migration and undocumented marriage along the shared border, as well as drug trafficking across the border.

President Tran Dai Quang asked the two forces to enhance coordination in personnel training, technology, anti-terrorism, and cyber-crime, while supporting each other at regional and international forums on criminal prevention and control, especially in fighting hi-tech, environmental crimes and other non-traditional crimes.

For his part, Kongthong Phongvichit briefed his host on the partnership between public security forces of both sides, including their major plans for cooperation in future.

He affirmed that the Laos’ Public Security Ministry treasures the assistance of Vietnam’s Public Security Ministry, especially their support in material and technical equipment.

He also pledged to strengthen ties with the Vietnamese side, thus contributing to preserving the Laos-Vietnam special relations.
