Vietnam's defence minister receives Chinese ambassador

NDO/VNA – Defence Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich spoke highly of the contributions made by the outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hong Xiaoyong, during a reception in Hanoi on February 7.

Minister Lich said that the ambassador has served as a bridge connecting the two Parties, States, governments and peoples during his tenure, as well as enhancing the bilateral defence ties which have become a pillar in the Vietnam – China diplomatic relations.

He believed that the ambassador would continue making important contributions to boosting the ties between the two nations and the bilateral defence link in particular.

Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hong, for his part, thanked the minister for creating favourable conditions for him and the Chinese embassy to accomplish their assigned tasks.

He vowed to take specific actions to contribute to the development of the friendship and comprehensive partnership between the two nations.
