NA Standing Committee convenes 25th session

NDO – The 25th session of the 14th National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee opened in Hanoi on July 11 under the chair of NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

In her opening remarks, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said documents to be discussed during the three-day session include the draft law on the Vietnam Coast Guard, the draft law on preventing and fighting corruption (revised) and the draft law on protecting state secrets.

The NASC will also give opinions on the plans on allocating and using the unallocated medium-term investment capital from the State budget in 2016-2020, and on allocating medium-term public investment capital to the national target programme on the East Sea and islands.

They will also consider and decide on the organisation and apparatus of a number of administrative units in Binh Duong, Ha Tinh and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces; and the appointment of ambassadors for the 2018-2021 tenure.

The implementation of a number of stipulations in the Investment Law, the Public Investment Law and the Law on Environmental Protection related to the environmental impact assessments of investment projects will also be discussed at the session.
