NDO – The Central Highland province of Dak Nong should continue its efforts to enhance economic restructuring, with a particular focus on boosting the processing industry, in the near future.

The statement was made by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc while visiting Dak Nong province and working with local leaders on February 9.

At the working session, the PM said that the province has many advantages for development across all fields, but the locality’s growth has yet to match its potential.

He asked the local authorities to accelerate the administrative procedures of reform in order to raise the PCI, calling for more investment to industrial zones in the province.

It is crucial to enhance innovation in all sectors, especially those in which the province performs strongly including agriculture, processing industry, mineral exploitation, and tourism, added the Government leader.

He stressed the importance of forest management, protection and plantation, and the regeneration of natural forests as well as the improving the effectiveness of agricultural and forestry enterprises.

PM Phuc also urged provincial leaders to set out measures which will lead to improvements in both the material and spiritual life of the locals, particularly those of ethnic minority groups.

Earlier on the same day, the PM visited and inspected two major projects in the province, including Nhan Co Aluminium Plant and Dak Nong Aluminium Electrolysis project.
