NDO - The 14th National Assembly Standing Committee convened its 12th meeting, on July 11 in Hanoi, reviewing the parliament’s previous plenary session and preparing for the upcoming session in October.

The main issues on the Standing Committee’s agenda include the approval of Protocol 7 to the ASEAN Framework Agreement on the Facilitation of Goods in Transit, adjustment to beneficiaries of funding sourced from government bonds and the school renovation programme.

According to Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, from now on the meetings of the National Assembly Standing Committee will open on a fixed day, the 10th of each month, so that the committee members can arrange their schedules in order to be able to attend the meeting.

The opening date may be delayed by one or two days if it falls on a weekend, or moved to another day if it coincides with the meeting of the Party Central Committee or any of the country’s important events.

Topics for discussion will also be evenly distributed among sessions to ensure that one session doesn’t last for more than seven days.

The 12th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee will take place for one and a half days.
