Dung Quat Oil Refinery under maintenance

NDO – In the extreme heat of the central region, thousands of experts, engineers and workers participating in the third phase of Dung Quat Oil Refinery Plant Maintenance are urgently and precisely working on each task to quickly put the billion-dollar petrochemical complex, the heart of Vietnam’s industry, back into operation.

Due to a large workload, contractors have mobilised thousands of professionals, engineers and workers both at home and abroad.

Security checks for those who work directly at the site have been tightened to ensure safety and security for the key national project.

Vietnamese experts, engineers and workers undertake high-level jobs.

Previously, such work was only performed by foreign experts.

The maintenance process is carried out by seven contractors, all ensuring progress and quality.

The presence of foreign experts can be witnessed onsite.

Although working in unfavourable weather conditions, progress remains on schedule, some of which exceeding the set progress by 5-9%.

The maintenance process is always closely directed and supervised by leaders of PetroVietnam and Binh Son Petrochemical Company - the managing unit of Dung Quat Oil Refinery Plant.

According to Le Nguyen Quoc Vinh, head of the maintenance department of Dung Quat plant, work is going smoothly and is on progress; all arising problems have been solved quickly as all scenarios have been well prepared for. It is likely that progress will exceed four days compared to the plan.

As of July 12, some workshops are expected to recommence operation and by July 22 the entire refinery will operate at 100% of its designed capacity with assured quality products.
