Ca Tru Performance “Spring Melody”

You are invited to a Ca Tru (Vietnamese ceremonial singing) performance with the theme “Spring melody” by Ca Tru master Pho Thi Kim Duc, the daughter of Pho Dinh On, who was the manager of a famous Ca Tru troupe in Kham Thien District, Hanoi, at the beginning of the 20th century.
Kim Duc began learning how to sing at the age of 7 and embarked on her singing career at 13.

Hang Trong Folk Painting Exhibition “The New Classics”

Hang Trong folk paintings are of a unique genre and were once the quintessence of the aesthetic, spiritual and religious values of the people of ancient Hanoi.
Works on display at the exhibition include iconic Hang Trong paintings, and patterns and creative designs that could be applied in contemporary design.

The exhibition features 50 paintings by Nguyen Thi Mai, done with acrylic on canvas but very much influenced by the style and process of lacquer painting.
“Metamorphosis” refers not only to the visual transformation of Nguyen Thi Mai’s artwork, but also reflects the multifacetedness of the figures, colours, rhythms, and ambience created by the combination.
