The announcement was made by Deputy Director of Goethe Institute Vietnam Mareike Steinberger at a press conference in Hanoi on September 24.

The event was initiated by the Council of Europe and is organised by Hanoi’s EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture) every year.

This year’s participants include the Aula Cervantes and the British Council, as well as the embassies of France, Italy, Poland, Finland, Czech Republic, Wallonie-Bruxelles Delegation and the Goethe Institute. It promises to offer special cultural activities, according to Deputy Director Mareike Steinberger.

At the event, ‘Speak-dating’ is offered, a format to help people get in touch with different languages instantly. Visitors have the opportunity to learn their first words in English, French, German, Italian, Finnish, Polish, Czech and Spanish.

“There will also be a quiz offering attractive prizes for the lucky winners, such as scholarships for intensive language courses, but also t-shirts, caps, books, and much more,” Deputy Director Mareike Steinberger said.
