Violinist Huu Quoc to perform in Ho Chi Minh City

NDO – Violinist Tran Huu Quoc will play a selection of masterpieces by famous composers in a concert at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House on April 19, according to an announcement from the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra (HBSO).

The concert programme will feature Figaro's Wedding (KS 492) – Overture, Mozart’s Concerto No. 21 In C Major, and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5.

Joining him for the concert will be guest artists from the Republic of Korea (RoK), such as talented conductor Kim Joon Cha and pianist Cho Eun Young.

Violinist Tran Huu Quoc was born in 1973. From the age of five, he studied violin with his musician father, Tran Huu Bich. In 1980, he studied with the artist Bui Cong Thanh at the Conservatory of Ho Chi Minh City. In 1987, he studied at the Gnesin Academy of Music (Moscow, Russia) and graduated in 2000. In the same year, he won the third prize in the Delphic International Violin Competition in Russia.

In 2002, he became a member of the Ensemble XXI Moscow Symphony. He is also a member of three orchestras in Seoul (RoK) and teaches at Kudje School, Cheonan (RoK).
