Photo exhibition highlights beauty of northern Russia

NDO – An exhibition entitled ‘Nature of Northern Russia’ opened on October 5 at the Vietnam Culture and Arts Exhibition Centre at 2 Hoa Lu Street, Hanoi, promising to bring the astounding beautiful landscapes of northern Russia closer to Vietnamese people.

The remark was made by Russian Ambassador to Vietnam, Konsatin V.Vnukov, at the opening ceremony.

The ceremony was also attended by Russia's deputy minister of culture Alexander Zhuravsky and Deputy Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy, along with a large number of visitors.

The exhibition features 60 photos (including large scale prints), introducing the natural landscapes of the northern region of Russia, from the untouched white sea and poetic lakes to renowned historical relic sites. The works also contribute to raise public awareness of the natural protection.

On display at the event are the most outstanding works from the artists, who have participated in the International Photographic Art Festival, and features 30 photos from the cities of Kaluga and Kamchatka, Russia.

According to Ambassador Konsatin V.Vnukov, in the first nine months of 2017, Vietnam welcomed nearly 500,000 Russian visitors and the ambassador expressed his hope that through the exhibition, Russia would welcome a similar number of Vietnamese visitors to Russia.

The event, jointly held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Russian Embassy in Vietnam and Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Hanoi, is part of the Russian Cultural Days in Vietnam.

The exhibition will run until October 10.
