Display area for wax sculptures launched

NDO – A display area for more than 100 wax sculptures, featuring well-known Vietnamese artists, was officially launched on April 11, at the Hoa Binh Theatre in District 10, Ho Chi Minh City.

On display, are models of famous artists including Professor Tran Van Khe, Ph.D, the leading musicologist in Vietnam; Cai luong (southern folk opera) playwright Vien Chau, People’s Artist Huynh Nga, musician Trinh Cong Son and singer Dam Vinh Hung.

According to To Trung Kiet, Director of Hoa Binh Theatre, along with the wax sculptures, information on the biography and dedication of all artists to the country’s culture and arts will be also introduced to visitors.

In addition, several exchange programmes between favourite artists, singers and visitors will be held at the display area, turning it into an attractive cultural, arts and tourism destination for both domestic and foreign tourists.

On the occasion, visitors will have a chance to experience a cultural space imbued with national identities such as display of Vietnamese special fruits and dishes, performances of don ca tai tu (traditional musical art form of the south) and photo exhibitions on famous artists.

The display area of wax sculptures aims to honour the achievements as well as great contributions made by different generations of Vietnamese artists to the development of Vietnamese culture and arts.
