Programme encourages Hanoians to experience RoK’s culture

NDO – A programme entitled, ‘The Korean Days in Hanoi’, officially kicked off at the Ly Thai To monument in Hanoi on April 8, offering an opportunity for Hanoians to experience the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s culture.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vice-Chairman of Hanoi municipal People’s Committee, Ngo Van Quy, affirmed that since the establishment of Vietnam – the RoK diplomatic ties in 1992, the RoK has become one of leading partners of Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular in all fields.

The programme features not only a range of unique arts activities by bands from the RoK, but also performances of Vietnamese traditional arts forms.

While the highlights of the programme was the performance of the famous Korean bands, EXID and SNUPER at the opening ceremony, the performances by DJ Trang Moon from Vietnam and DJ Schdule from the RoK with electronic musical instruments on April 9 will be an attraction.

In addition, the performances of the RoK’s instrumental bands including JUMP and FANTASTICK and the band performing Korean traditional instruments, Gook Bok; along with a programme featuring Vietnamese traditional music, are expected to attract a large number of people.

During the two-day event, numerous booths of both RoK and Vietnamese travel agencies and enterprises will promote the RoK’s tourism as well as introduce Olympic Pyeong Chang 2018, Gyeongju cultural exhibition and fair, the forms of medical and beauty tourism of the RoK and the Korean tourism products.

In 2016, Vietnam welcomed 1.5 million visitors from the RoK and the number of Vietnamese people visiting the RoK was estimated at over 240,000, an increase of around 54.4% compared to the previous year.

According to General Director of the RoK Tourism Administration (KTA), Jung Chang Soo, the RoK would organise more activities to enhance the promotion of the RoK tourism to Vietnamese people and the development of medical tourism products as well as tours to the country.
