NDO – A recent survey on business confidence conducted by the Vietnam Private Sector Forum (VPSF) showed that the confidence of private business leaders continues to increase, as the private sector is increasingly asserting its important role in Vietnam's economic growth in the near future.
NDO - A festival and trade fair kicked off on August 7 in the northern province of Hung Yen to honour its local delicacy, longan, as well as agricultural and handicraft products from 22 destinations across the country.
NDO – The inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Vietnam has increased rapidly so far this year and is shifting in a positive trend. As of July 20, the country had attracted US$12.9 billion in new FDI pledges, alongside another US$5.9 billion in additional pledges, without taking into account the US$3.1 billion, which was both contributed and used by foreign investors to buy stakes in Vietnamese businesses.

NDO - The total retail sales value of goods and services in July was estimated at more than VND 327.6 trillion (US$14.4 billion), 1.2% higher than last month and 10.3% higher than at the same period last year, according to a General Statistics Office (GSO) report.
NDO – Vegetables and fruit continue to be a bright spot in the field of agricultural exports during the first seven months of 2017. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), the total export value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products reached US$20.45 billion during the Jan-Jul period, in which fruits and vegetables alone accounted for US$2.03 billion, an increase of 49% over the same period in 2016.
NDO - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) to continue modernising its technology and build on its momentum to maintain its standing in the national economy, during a working session with the group held in Hanoi on August 5.
NDO – Information from the Vietnam Competition Authority, under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, revealed that the US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced its decision to adjust the antidumping duty on Vietnamese shrimp exported to the country, between February 1, 2013 and January 31, 2014, from 1.16% to 1.42%.
NDO – Southern localities are striving to achieve the total retail sales of goods and services in 2017 of over VND2 trillion, up 11.51% compared to 2016, with total exports reaching almost US$105 billion, up 11.6%.
NDO - A workshop was held on August 4, in the port city of Hai Phong, aiming to provide small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with information that could facilitate them to access capital and avoid risks in international payment.
