NDO – Viet Uc Group put into operation a shrimp-industry high-tech water treatment plant, the most modern of its kind in Vietnam, at the juvenile shrimp production area of the Viet Uc-Bac Lieu Company in Bac Lieu city, Bac Lieu province on October 10.

By applying superior technologies from three world-leading countries, namely Germany, the United Kingdom and Austria, the plant’s water treatment system is the technology peak in the world shrimp industry, featuring antimicrobial sand filtration, ozone purification, UV water purification, and automatic operation.

The plant was constructed at a cost of over VND50 billion (US$2.15 million) and is capable of handling 250 cubic metres of water per hour.

It will play an important role in supplying clean water to offer the best habitat for the development of juvenile shrimps.

Luong Thanh Van, President and CEO of Viet Uc Group, said the inauguration of the plant creates a solid belief in the provision of juvenile shrimps free of disease and with better quality, affirming that Viet Uc Group hopes to stand side by side with the success of shrimp farmers in each crop.

Viet Uc Group has been the largest juvenile shrimp producer in Vietnam for five consecutive years. With a total output of more than 50 billion shrimps annually, it accounts for 25% of the juvenile shrimp market shares nationwide.
