Shopee launches “9.9 Online Shopping Day” programme

NDO – Shopee, a leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Chinese Taipei, kick-started the “9.9 Online Shopping Day” programme, the largest online shopping event in the Southeast Asian region, at a press brief held in Hanoi on September 5.
Accordingly, on September 9, Shopee (https://shopee.vn/99) will give consumers a number of special offers, with many products to be sold at the same preferential price of VND9,000 (roughly US$0.4) from the industries of fashion, beauty, health, auxiliaries, technology and household appliances.
The platform also pledges the lowest price or will refund money for over 1,000 products labelled with the “Shopee guaranteed”, whilst continuing to apply the free shipping policy throughout the country.
According to Pine Kyaw, Director of Shopee Vietnam, Shopee will be accompanied by many large enterprises and prestigious brands in this year’s “9.9 Online Shopping Day” event. Together with the parent company Garena, companions, namely Foody, HSBC and VPBank, have supported Shopee in extending the coverage of the programme to over five million consumers across the country, with a total promotional value of up to VND9 billion (US$395,910).
In addition, Shopee also cooperates with an array of leading trademarks, including Samsung and Unilever, among others, in order to further expand the scope of its industries.
The “9.9 Online Shopping Day” in Vietnam has been launched simultaneously with those in other countries, namely Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Chinese Taipei.
In Vietnam, livestreaming is currently a popular and effective sales trend, so during the “9.9 Online Shopping Day”, more than 1,000 salespeople on Shopee will apply this method in order to provide precise information on their products to consumers.
This is the second time the annual online shopping festival takes place in Vietnam, following the 2016 event.
