NDO – Construction kick started on the Mui Dinh Wind Farm plant with total capacity of 37.6MW in the South Central Coast province of Ninh Thuan on August 30.

Located in Tu Thien village, Phuoc Dinh commune, Thuan Nam district, the project has a total investment of over VND1.2 billion (US$54 million) from the German company EAB.

The wind farm comprises 16 turbines built on an area of 12 ha. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation by 2017, contributing to ensuring national energy security and providing stable power to serve local socio-economic development.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Ninh Thuan leaders urged investors and construction units to comply with construction monitoring provisions to ensure the project quality and proposed schedule, as well as environmental safety.

It is the second wind power project started in Ninh Thuan, thereby gradually making the locality the country’s renewable energy hub.

On the occasion, EAB also granted US$10,000 for the Sponsoring Association for Disadvantaged Patients and the Fund for the Poor in Phuoc Dinh commune.
